Notes

Description
Este libro, una historia de niños contada por niños, no fue fácil de contar o escuchar. Pero no es solo una historia sobre la crueldad y la negligencia de los adultos, sino que a fin de cuentas, es también la historia de la fuerza, valentía y esperancza de los niños.
Description
In Spanish and in English, a first-person account of children's experiences in detention at the southern U.S. border. Every day, children in migration are detained at the US-Mexico border. They are scared, alone, and their lives are in limbo. Hear My Voice/Escucha mi voz shares the stories of 61 these children, from Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Ecuador, and Mexico, ranging in age from five to seventeen--in their own words from actual sworn testimonies. The book is in English on one side; then flip it over, and there's a complete Spanish version. Illustrated by 17 Latinx artists, including Caldecott Medalist and multiple Pura Belpré Illustrator Award-winning Yuyi Morales and Pura Belpré Illustrator Award-winning Raúl the Third. Includes information, questions, and action points.
Description
"A moving picture book for older children and families that introduces a difficult topic, amplifying the voices and experiences of immigrant children detained at the border between Mexico and the US. The children's actual words (from publicly available court documents) are assembled to tell one heartbreaking story, in both English and Spanish (back to back). Each spread is illustrated in striking full-color by a different Latinx artist. A portion of sales will be donated to human rights organizations that work with children on the border"--,Provided by publisher.
