Description
Every day we make assumptions about who we are, what we do, and who we interact with. Diversity in the Library will help you examine those assumptions and realize that they can create barriers to outstanding public service. The program uses scenarios taken directly from library worker's experiences. By examining those scenarios and the solutions provided, viewers will be able to better serve all of their customers in this increasingly complex and diverse world. The program is based on the award-winning diversity program implemented by Baltimore County Public Library. "A good starting point for group discussion...this video instructs library staff to 'treat people as people' and move beyond stereotypes..." - School Library Journal.
